First year coach Martin Fortier was given a ferrari and is driving it like a pro. The Nomades won their 12th consecutive game this season and 53rd of their last 54 to take the RSEQ Provincial title 55-33 over the Ste-Foy Dynamiques. Third Year guard, Maude Archambault led a balanced Montmorency offense with 10 points. The Bishop’s University recruit, Archambault was named Tournament Most Valuable Player.
Montmorency never trailed in the game. The defensive-minded Nomades held Ste-Foy to 3 first quarter points, and was leading 30-11 by halftime. The Nomades pushed their lead at 49-21 at the end of the 3rd quarter and cruised to win a one-sided championship finale. Nine players scored for the Laval powerhouse who will look to take home its Third straight National title next week. The CCAA Women’s Basketball Championship will take place in Vancouver Island University in British Columbia from March 18-21
