McGill sophomore guard, Jonathan Telfort is expected to be released from Royal Victoria Hospital this weekend.
Telfort collapsed on the court during practice on Monday and was kept under examination all week: “I was just coming off the court, sat on the bench, and was talking with my teammates, and I just collapsed” said Telfort over the phone. “I am going through MRI tests to see what happened. My dad is also taking tests to see if it may be hereditary. I’m fine now, I should be out by Friday or Saturday,” he added.
The 6’2, 183lbs guard starred at Edouard-Montpetit CEGEP and was a standout player at DeMortagne High School Sport-Étude Program in Boucherville.
Telfort is currently in his second year in Electrical Engineering.

Le joueur de deuxième année de l’université McGill, Jonathan Telfort devrait recevoir son congé de l’hôpital Royal Victoria en fin de semaine.
Telfort s’est effondré en plein entraînement lundi et a passé la semaine sous surveillance à l’hôpital. “Je suis venu au banc après avoir fait un changement, et je parlais tranquillement avec mes coéquipiers et quelques instants plus tard, je me suis effondré” souligne Telfort lors d’un entretien téléphonique. “J’ai passé beaucoup de test de résonance magnétique pour voir ce qui s’est passé. Ils examinent aussi mon père pour voir si ce n’est pas héréditaire. Mais je vais mieux, je devrais quitter soit vendredi ou samedi” ajoute-t-il.
Le garde de 6’2, 183lbs a été une vedette au CEGEP Édouard-Montpetit au niveau collégial après un passage au niveau secondaire au programme sport-étude de l’école secondaire DeMortagne de Boucherville.
Telfort est à sa deuxième année en génie électrique à McGill.
