The John Abbott Islanders are tied for first place in the RSEQ Cegep Men’s Basketball League.
The Islanders swept their two games over the weekend to move up to a 3-1 record this season. On Friday night, Coach King’s boy had a dominant performance in Saint-Lambert to defeat the Cavaliers 78-67. Keevon Small and Daniel Cayer led the team with 20 and 24 points respectively.
On Sunday the team hosted Montmorency and grabbed a low-scoring victory 58-53. Daniel Cayer was the top performer for John Abbott with 21 points.
The team visits Edouard-Montpetit Wednesday night.

Les Islanders du CEGEP John Abbott sont en tête du classement en basketball collégial masculin Division I du RSEQ.
Les Islanders ont emporté leurs deux parties en fin de semaine pour mener leur dossier à 3 victoires et 1 défaite cette saison. Vendredi soir, la troupe de Dave King a dominé les Cavaliers dans un gain facile de 78-67. Keevon Small et Daniel Cayer ont mené la charge pour John Abbott avec 20 et 24 points respetivement.
Dimanche après-midi, l’équipe recevait le CEGEP Montmorency à Ste-Anne-de-bellevue et s’est sauvé avec une victoire de 58-53. Daniel Cayer a guidé John Abbott avec 21 points.
Les Islanders rendront visite au CEGEP Édouard-Montpetit mercredi soir.
