It was the matchup everybody wanted to see. Abbott had beaten the Cavaliers twice already.
The #1 Champlain Saint-Lambert Cavaliers gave the packed house the show they wanted; a lopsided 92-55 win against #2 John Abbott. The biggest margin win of the season in the RSEQ Men’s Division I.
Champlain opened up on a 9-0 and kept on pushing. The Cavaliers took a 17-8 lead after the 1st quarter. The lead was extend to 37-21 at the half.
Dan Martin’s team came back from the locker room with even more fire. Champlain was up 66-37 after 3. The fourth quarter was not a let down. The Cavaliers shot a dazzling 16-32 from 3 point range and 16-18 at the line.
10 players scored in the game for Saint-Lambert who clinched the playoffs with the victory.
After starting the season 8-2, John Abbott is now 2-3 since the Christmas break.
Champlain (11-3) hosts Montmorency (5-9) on Friday. John Abbott (10-5) visits Dawson (7-8).
