After suffering back to back losses early this month, the John Abbott Islanders recorded their second consecutive win.
The Sunday afternoon 84-73 victory at Vanier comes at no better time for John Abbott. The Cheetahs gave John Abbott one of their worst loss this season on Jan. 23 when they beat them 88-65. The two teams could possibly face each other in the post season.
Keevon Small had 23 points and took down 10 rebounds to lead the Islanders. Three other teammates reaches double digits; Isaac Netto 10 points, Amadou Diene and Thomas Saint-Louis 10 points each.
Schneiders Suffrard led Vanier with 16 points. Godsman Kwakwa added 15. After dropping a season high 30 points Friday night at Champlain, Abdul Kamane finished the game with 3 point on a 1-13 shooting night.
John Abbott (12-5) hosts Montmorency (6-11) on Friday with the hopes of clinching first place amid a Champlain Saint-Lambert (13-4) loss at Ste-Foy (6-11).hotos
Vanier (8-9) hosts Edouard-Montpetit (7-10) also on Friday. A loss for the Cheetahs would disqualify them from playoff contention.
